English Language Challenges

This is my last post so I hope that you like it and continue reading my blog.  This post is about English subject.

Well, English subject at university is a subject necessary and during this university year I like the way to explain different topics, but I would like to do some changes such as connect English with topics related with my career, for example the vocabulary and activities. In the blog, I felt the same as English b1 because I learned new vocabulary and I could expound on my ideas in the post. This experience was very educative. But being realist I think that my vocabulary not increase much because some words only I used in the post and I didn´t use in my daily life. On the other hand, topics such as my future and my postgraduate studies were most difficult post cause I never thought about those topic before, but the post such as the best holidays, my summer holidays, films and national park were more easy say all that I wanted because I felt comfortable writing.

About aspects that I need to improve, this could be the pronunciation, the form of speaking in English and the grammar. I would like in the future enter in an English program to learning more and I could development my skills.

When I don´t have English class I using English sometimes, only when I listen to music in English and I tried to understand that meaning of the song or when I saw movies I liked to listening in English with subtitles in Spanish to related the words.

Changes to my study program

This is my penultimate blog so I hope that you like it and is about changes to my study program of forestry career. Well, I thought when I was in school that forestry program of Universidad de Chile was good because is a great university and certification career was a long time, at that moment I had many good suggestion relates with career and university, so I looked over the study program to support all and I was convince to enter at university. After that I got into university I saw that there are many changes to do specifically in study program and faculty facilities.

First, I think that study program demand a lot but the student don´t have time to do all that program demand. For example, during of the five or six years of career I have to do 9 elective and 3 of those are sports elective but in the real life the obligatory subjects required more time that a sports elective and in the university we only have time to take obligatory subjects and others elective instead of sports elective. I would like to take a sports elective but I don´t have a free time to take it, is something that I want to change. 

Another thing would be eliminate subjects because there some subjects that I think maybe there aren´t be in the program study because during year in those subjects we do nothing really related with the career.

In relation to faculty facilities I would like make more study classroom to students and repair computer class.

My summer holidays!

I am going to talk about my summer holidays! Since I got into university my vacation last only one month, because in January we have summer practice that last two weeks approximately. In spite of that I like have summer practice cause I trip to other places and enjoy being not in my house.

On the other hand, in January is my birthday and sometime I having birthday dinner with my family and friends. I like that month cause is summer and I don`t have to study for test or anyone else I only lay down to rest.

How I am in vacation always meeting with my friends and we sometimes go to fantalisandia, the cinema or only we meeting in a house to singing karaoke, playing just dance and other activities. Although it`s not always available because in summer holidays at time we aren`t in Santiago.

In summer holidays always with my family come to Puelo in Puerto Montt at grandparent’s house for two weeks in February or come to La Serena and we visiting Coquimbo, going to the beach and always going to La Recova to buy sweets or souvenir like magnet, key ring, etc.

For this summer holidays we though go again to Puelo for spend time with my grandparent and uncles, as well as I really like go to the south with his beautiful landscape. In this occasion too we want to go a Chiloé for visiting mom´s friends. 

Astronomy

Today I am going to talk about one interesting topic: Astronomy.

When I was a child always for Christmas I wished a telescope to see the stars and constellation but I never had it so I felt sad because I couldn`t see a sky full of stars or star shooting more closer. Since I was a child I looked at the star and I imagine a different world with your own laws and different lifestyle that interact making a beautiful sky, I really like to see at the sky to look how all shinnig stars.

I think astronomy is an amazing science allow for study celestial body of universe, planets, satellite, comet, meteorite and more big such as galaxy including movement and phenomenon related with with this unknow world. Because in the universe exists planets such a large or small, far away from the earth, with composition different and special feature, also some planets maybe have other lifestyle.     

One topic of astronomy I think is interesting is black hole, because has a large size like 330.000 times more than the earth similar at the sun. The black hole characterizes for be such a big vacuum because attract all around of him including other black hole to grow and this can`t see in the space, this phenomenon has a big attraction that could catch the light. When appear some black hole no one can scape. 

My postgraduate studies

Hello bloggers! How are you? I am going to talk about my future postgraduate studies.

At the present, I am student of second year of forestry at Universidad de Chile and maybe finish the career in three or four years. The curriculum map in fifth year has three options: choice A: Memory, choice B: Extend professional practice and choice C: Do a master. In my case I would like to do extend professional practice or do a master in Wild Areas and Conservation of Nature. 

First I would like to do extend professional practice cause in any work ask for work experience and this way I could have experience for work.

 On the other hand, I would like to do a master in Wild Areas and Conservation of Nature in Universidad de Chile, because it is necessary protect wild areas of Chile due to has much endemism of species and now the ecosystem has changing for effects made by human being such as deforestation, contamination, building of infrastructure and many action that makes damage to ecosystems.

Another option could be made a postgraduate study in other university, for example in Universidad Austral de Chile has a many option to do a master or doctorate such as PhD in Forest Ecosystem and Natural Resources, master in Forest and Environments’ science or master in Forest Resources`science.

My future c:

When I think in my future about family, study,travel,  even my future job I can´t imagine how it will be. The only thing that I hope it is my future make me feel happy.

About my future job in specifically what work area I like to do in this moment I can´t take a decisión, yet. Because In my opinion I have much to learn of my career and I will like to know much. But the conservation is one area what I want to know, due to is very important protect diversity of flora and fauna of ours country.

On the other hand I really like work outdoors such as forest, national park, wild area, even travel to other countries like this I could learn of my profession, country culture and other matter. I can´t be in an office all time and I interested in learning about plants, do plan of conservation to some way avoid what people make damage to ecosystem.    

At finish university I want to begin to accomplish all my dreams. Start by work in a new proyect about conservation and sustainable development in sector of Puelo located in Cochamó commune near of Puerto Montt. Because the place have many remember important to me and at present many hydro-electric power plants wanted damage zone near río Manso y río Puelo.     

National Park Alerce Andino

I going to talk about National Park Alerce Andino, this place is in province of Llanquihue, in comunes of Puerto Montt and Cochamó. This park was created in 17th of november in 1982. There are 39.255 hectares of alerce forest and this specie is in danger of extinction, for that reason the park form part of Reserva de la Biosfera Bosques Templados Lluviosos de Los Andes Australes.  Alerce Andino characterize by his diversity of vegetation and his lake hidden  between rain forest. The forests types in the national park are alerce, coigüe de Magallanes y lenga, but there are much species such as tineo, canelo, tepa, arrayán, differents fern, etc. The animals that you can see  in this place are púdu, zorro chilla, monito del monte, huet-huet, martín pescador, etc.     

My first time in Alerce Andino was in january in 2016. I like so much because of his beautiful landscape and I never think probable see height and big threes such as millenary alerces. On the other hand, when I went up in to the path I felt very tired, because the trekking was so long. But I think the experience of the trekking and memories of the trip are the most important to me.
